Since you brought me up on the podcast on the subject of creating on the iPad I figured I’d chime in.
As you know I’ve tried a lot of different art apps for iOS. My factories for drawing and painting art Procreate, ArtStudio and Sketchbook. Inkpad is the best Illustrator like app I’ve used, although I haven’t used it much. I find it difficult to do those types of images on the iPad.
I have Pixelmator for iPad, but haven’t had the chance to use it much. I haven’t had the need, but I thought it would be good to have.
I don’t use any of the Adobe products for iOS at all. That might have to do with the fact that I am trying to stop using them on the Mac too. I use Pixelmator on the Mac for Photoshop type of work and Affinity Designer for Illustrator type of work. I only use Adobe software if I really need too.
Doodlecast Pro is a fantastic app for making screen recordings of drawings. For example, I”ve made how to draw videos using Doodlecast and then inserted them into a book. Speaking of books, I create all of my books in an app called Book Creator that I reviewed a while back at MyMac. It is fantastic and the easiest way to get a book ready for the iBookstore.
I could keep going, but that is probably enough for now…
